An excellent laptop for everyday tasks and professional work such as light to moderate 1080p and 4K video editing, programming, multitasking, and Adobe Photoshop design work. It also features a sleek and elegant design with longer battery life.

Apple launched the MacBook Air with noticeable and meaningful upgrades, mainly represented by the new M5 processor, which delivers better performance than the M4 along with local AI support and several other improvements.

The 13-inch MacBook Air M5 (2026) also comes with a few changes, starting at $1,099 and reaching $1,299, with the base model seeing a $100 price increase compared to last year’s $999 starting price. In my opinion, this increase is justified considering the improvements brought by the new M5 chip, which offers faster and more powerful performance along with storage options up to 512GB.

It also includes an improved graphics processor, especially with the addition of an AI unit for each core.

The aluminum chassis gives the laptop an elegant and premium look. Apple has truly mastered the use of this material, outperforming many companies that also use aluminum in competing Windows laptops within the same price category.
